4 Coconut Oil Uses - Indigo Nutrition
19:24:00, by Petite Style BeautyToday's post is about the great superfood: Coconut Oil.
It has many properties and benefits, both for skin and alimentation!
The one I use is Indigo Herbs'. It is a bio oil, 100% coconut and it's also vegan, raw and cold pressed.
It's made in Glastonbury, UK, and it's price is only £7.99 for 500ml of product.
I find this oil one of the best around, because of its qualities, which are not easy to find.
Indigo Herbs has a lot of really great products: wholefoods, herbs, superfoods, all natural and organic, with worldwide shipping.
PROPERTIES
Pure coconut oil is solid with cold, and liquid when the temperature is warm.
It's well known to boost metabolism, burn excess fat increase good cholesterol, making the digestion easier.
It's rich in antioxidants and nourishing substances.
To benefit of this properties, you need to be sure that the oil is 100% pure and not hydrogenated.
1. AFTER SHOWER BODY BUTTER
Thanks to the fat acids, it nourishes the skin and hydrates it deeply, without being greasy. With a pleasant aroma, it is an emollient oil instead of creams. I use it right after shower, on wet skin.
2. PRE-SHAMPOO HAIR TREATMENT
I dampen the hair and I apply the oil on lengths & ends I leave it on for 15 minutes (or more) as a pre-shampoo treatment, every two weeks. The hair will be hydrated and soft.
3. TEETH WHITENER
Coconut oil fights caries and kills bacteria in the mouth. Its whitening properties are well known.
I use it once a week with baking soda to wash my teeth.
4. FOR COOKING AND AS A COFFEE CREAMER
Instead of sugar, to sweeten and give flavour to coffee I make a cream with coconut oil, honey, cinnamon and cocoa powder, to store in a jar and use as needed.
This will give some more taste and energy to the morning coffee.
INGREDIENTS:
5 TBSP COCONUT OIL,
5 TSP HONEY,
1 TSP CINNAMON,
1 TSP UNSWEETENED COCOA POWDER
Once the ingredients have been combined, you will just need to stir.
Whenever you'll use it, you'll need to stir the cream again as the oil will separate itself from the other ingredients.
Take a spoon of the cream and use the frother with the coffee.
The result will be a creamy and irresistible coffee, that will give you a feeling of satiety.
Normally, in the kitchen, coconut oil can also be used instead of common oil or butter for cooking.
Did you find it interesting?
Please watch my video as well, where I show you how I use it. (It has english subtitles).
